WELCOME

SONGS

You were the Word at the beginning, One with God the Lord most high.
Your hidden glory in creation, Now revealed in You our Christ.

What a beautiful name it is, what a beautiful name it is
The name of Jesus Christ, my king.
What a beautiful name it is Nothing compares to this.
What a beautiful name it is, the name of Jesus

It was for Your sake that You came down,
For the sake of Your good name.
Our sin was great Your love was greater, What could separate us now?

What a wonderful name it is…

Death could not hold You, the veil tore before You.
You silenced the boast of sin and grave.
The heavens are roaring the praise of Your glory,
for You are raised to life again.

You have no rival, You have no equal now and forever God You reign
Yours is the Kingdom, Yours is the glory.
Yours is the name above all names!

What a powerful name it is, what a powerful name it is
The name of Jesus Christ, my king.
What a powerful name it is, nothing can stand against!
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus
What a powerful name it is, the name of Jesus

BAPTISM

Testimonies now follow.

Father God we thank you for our sisters
Grace, Aimee, and Katherine and our brother Nathan.
Thank you that you have called them
and given them the gift of faith.
Thank you that they are now your children
and have the hope of eternal life.
Please bless them
and strengthen their faith in you.
Keep them trusting in Jesus until his return.
We ask this in Jesus name. Amen

Do you repent of all the sins that separate us from God?
I repent of them.
Do you believe in Jesus Christ as your Saviour?
I believe in him.
Do you submit to Jesus Christ as your Lord?
I submit to him.
Will you take up the cross to follow Jesus Christ wherever he may lead you?
I will follow him.

Will you support […] and pray for him/her so that he/she will continue to grow as a follower of Jesus?
With the help of God, we will.

[…] do you wish to be baptized? I do.
[…], we baptise you in the name of the Father,
and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen.

Do not be ashamed to confess
the faith of Christ crucified.
Fight valiantly as a disciple of Christ
against sin, the world and the devil,
and remain faithful to Christ to the end of your life.

SONG

Lord I lift your name on high Lord, I love to sing your praises.
I’m so glad you’re in my life. I’m so glad you came to save us.

You came from heaven to earth, to show the way,
from the earth to the cross, my debt to pay,
from the cross to the grave, from the grave to the sky,
Lord, I lift your name on high.

Man of sorrows, Lamb of God, by His own betrayed.
The sin of man and wrath of God has been on Jesus laid.

Silent as He stood accused, beaten, mocked, and scorned.
Bowing to the Father’s will, He took a crown of thorns.

Oh, that rugged cross, my salvation,
where Your love poured out over me.
Now my soul cries out, “Hallelujah! Praise and honour unto Thee.”

Sent of heaven, God’s own Son, to purchase and redeem,
and reconcile the very ones who nailed Him to that tree.

Oh, that rugged cross…

Now my debt is paid, it is paid in full
by the precious blood that my Jesus spilled.
Now the curse of sin has no hold on me.
Whom the Son sets free, oh is free indeed.

See the stone is rolled away, behold the empty tomb.
Hallelujah, God be praised! He’s risen from the grave!

Oh, that rugged cross…

BIBLE READING: Luke 8:19-21

19 Now Jesus’ mother and brothers came to see him, but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. 20 Someone told him, “Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to see you.”

21 He replied, “My mother and brothers are those who hear God’s word and put it into practice.”

BIBLE TALK

SONG

Come you weary heart now to Jesus. Come you anxious soul now and see
There is perfect love and comfort in your tears.
Rest here in His wondrous peace.
Come find what this world cannot offer.
Come and find your joy here complete.
Taste the living water, never thirst again.
Rest here in His wondrous peace.

Oh the goodness, the goodness of Jesus. Satisfied he is all that I need.
May it be, come what may, that I rest all my days
in the goodness of Jesus.

Come and find your hope now in Jesus. He is all He said He would be.
Grace is overflowing from the Saviour’s heart
Rest here in His wondrous peace.

PRAYERS

SONG

Hear the call of the kingdom lift your eyes to the King.
Let his song rise within you as a fragrant offering,
of how God, rich in mercy, came in Christ to redeem
all who trust in his unfailing grace.

Hear the call of the kingdom to be children of light,
with the mercy of heaven, the humility of Christ.
Walking justly before Him, loving all that is right,
that the life of Christ may shine through us.

King of heaven, we will answer the call;
we will follow, bringing hope to the world,
filled with passion, filled with power to proclaim
salvation in Jesus’ name.

Hear the call of the kingdom to reach out to the lost,
with the Father’s compassion in the wonder of the cross,
bringing peace and forgiveness, and a hope yet to come;
let the nations put their trust in Him.

WELCOME  by Richard Hopkins

SONG

Come people of the risen king who delight to bring him praise;
come all and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth we will lift our eyes to him,
where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in.

Rejoice, rejoice! Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice; O church of Christ, rejoice!

Come, those whose joy is morning sun, and those weeping through the night;
come, those who tell of battles won, and those struggling in the fight.
For his perfect love will never change, and his mercies never cease,
but follow us through all our days with the certain hope of peace.

Come, young and old from every land – men and women of the faith;
come, those with full or empty hands -find the riches of his grace.
Over all the world, his people sing – shore to shore we hear them call
the truth that cries through every age: ‘our God is all in all!

Father, break into our darkened hearts.

Come and drink the river of his Word

come and join the banquet at the Master’s feast
where his love and faithfulness provide.

I will trust in you as you speak to me,
I will turn to you as you call my name,
as the rain gives life on this arid ground,
so your Word will bring your children home.

Come and listen to his gentle voice
for the words he speaks to us are Spirit and life;
come and seek your Saviour while he may be found,
sure that Jesus’ words can never lie.

BIBLE READING – Matthew 22:1-14 read by Luke Bowerman

Jesus left the temple and was going away, when his disciples came to point out to him the buildings of the temple. But he answered them, “You see all these, do you not? Truly, I say to you, there will not be left here one stone upon another that will not be thrown down.”

As he sat on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately, saying, “Tell us, when will these things be, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the close of the age?” And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ’, and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumours of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains.

“Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. 10 And then many will fall away[a] and betray one another and hate one another. 11 And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. 12 And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. 13 But the one who endures to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

BIBLE TALK by Nigel Styles

SONG

And can it be that I should gain
an interest in the Saviour’s blood?
Died he for me, who caused His pain;
for me, who him to death pursued?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?
Amazing love! How can it be
that thou, my God, shouldst die for me?

‘Tis mystery all: the Immortal dies:
who can explore his strange design?
In vain the firstborn seraph tries
to sound the depths of love divine!
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
let angel minds inquire no more.
‘Tis mercy all! Let earth adore,
let angel minds inquire no more.

He left His Father’s throne above
so free, so infinite his grace;
emptied himself of all but love,
and bled for Adam’s helpless race.
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free,
for, O my God, it found out me!
‘Tis mercy all, immense and free,
for, O my God, it found out me!

Long my imprisoned spirit lay
fast bound in sin and nature’s night;
thine eye diffused a quickening ray,
I woke, the dungeon flamed with light.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.
My chains fell off, my heart was free,
I rose, went forth, and followed thee.

No condemnation now I dread:
Jesus and all in him is mine!
Alive in him, my living head,
and clothed in righteousness divine,
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ my own.
Bold I approach the eternal throne,
and claim the crown, through Christ my own.

SONG

Come on, come in, everybody, there is a God who is worthy
Of all our praise – he alone is Lord.
Come on and join with creation, let everything shout to praise him:
Glory to Christ – he’s the one who made us.

Lift up your voices to heaven’s king.
Bow down before his throne.
Our perfect Saviour died for our sin.
Hallelujah! Praise to Jesus Christ the king.

Come on, come in, all you weary, come on and find rest with Jesus,
He is the one who can heal your soul.
Come on and join with the angels praising the Lamb who was faithful:
Giving his life – he’s the one who saved us.

Come on, you saints, keep believing; gather to hear the Lord speaking:
humble your hearts, tremble at his voice.
Come in with joy for the future; he will renew heaven and earth,
Jesus is Lord – he’s the one who’ll raise us.

SONG

Give thanks to the Lord our God and King his love endures forever.
For He is good, he is above all things: his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm: his love endures forever.
For the life that’s been reborn: his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

Forever God is faithful; forever God is strong.
Forever God is with us, forever. (repeat)
Forever.

From the rising to the setting sun: his love endures forever.
By the grace of God, we will carry on: his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

SONG

Who, O Lord, could save themselves, their own soul could heal?
Our shame was deeper than the sea; your grace is deeper still.

And you alone can rescue, you alone can save.
You alone can lift us from the grave.
You came down to find us, led us out of death:
to you alone belongs the highest praise.

You, O Lord, have made a way, the great divide you healed,
for when our hearts were far away, your love went further still.
Yes, your love went further still.

We lift up our eyes, we lift up our eyes: You’re the giver of life! (repeat)
to you alone belongs the highest praise.
to you alone belongs the highest praise.
to you alone belongs the highest praise.

BIBLE READING read by Claire Coleman
Matthew 21:1-11

As they approached Jerusalem and came to Bethphage on the Mount of Olives, Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, “Go to the village ahead of you, and at once you will find a donkey tied there, with her colt by her. Untie them and bring them to me. If anyone says anything to you, say that the Lord needs them, and he will send them right away.”

This took place to fulfill what was spoken through the prophet:

“Say to Daughter Zion,
    ‘See, your king comes to you,
gentle and riding on a donkey,
    and on a colt, the foal of a donkey.’”

The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt and placed their cloaks on them for Jesus to sit on. A very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went ahead of him and those that followed shouted,

“Hosanna to the Son of David!”

“Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord!”

“Hosanna in the highest heaven!”

10 When Jesus entered Jerusalem, the whole city was stirred and asked, “Who is this?”

11 The crowds answered, “This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth in Galilee.”

SONG

Everyone needs compassion, love that’s never failing:
let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness, the kindness of a Saviour,
the hope of nations.

Saviour, he can move the mountains.
My God is mighty to save, he is mighty to save.
Forever – author of salvation.
He rose and conquered the grave, Jesus conquered the grave.

So take me as you find me, all my fears and failures: fill my life again.
I give my life to follow everything I believe in; now I surrender.

Shine your light and let the whole world see.
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King! (repeat)

SONG

Lift high the name of Jesus
of Jesus our King.
Make known the power of His grace,
the beauty of His peace.
Remember how His mercy reached
and we cried out to Him.
He lifted us to solid ground,
to freedom from our sin.

Oh sing my soul, and tell all He’s done,
till the earth and heavens are filled with His glory!

Lift high the name of Jesus,
of Jesus our Lord.
His power in us is greater than,
is greater than this world.
To share the reason for our hope,
to serve with love and grace,
that all who see Him shine through us
might bring the Father praise.

Lift high the name of Jesus,
of Jesus our Light.
No other name on earth can save,
can raise a soul to life.
He opens up our eyes to see
the harvest He has grown.
We labour in His fields of grace
as He leads sinners home.

We hear from Richard about Passion for life

SONGS

Grace unmeasured vast and free
that knew me from eternity;
that called me out before my birth
to bring you glory on this earth.

Grace amazing, pure and deep
that saw me in my misery;
that took my curse and owned my blame
so I could bear your righteous name.

Grace (grace, grace)
paid for my sins and brought me to life.
Grace (grace, grace)
clothes me with power to do what is right.
Grace (grace, grace)
will lead me to heaven where I’ll see your face,
and never cease to thank You for your grace.

Grace abounding, strong and true
that makes me long to be like you;
that turns me from my selfish pride
to love the cross on which you died.

Grace unending all my days,
you’ll give me strength to run this race.
And when my years on earth are through,
the praise will all belong to you.

How deep the Father’s love for us
how vast beyond all measure,
that he should give his only Son
to make a wretch his treasure.
How great the pain of searing loss,
the Father turns his face away,
as wounds which mar the Chosen One
bring many sons to glory.

Behold the Man upon the cross,
my sin upon his shoulders;
ashamed, I hear my mocking voice
call out among the scoffers.
It was my sin that held him there
until it was accomplished;
his dying breath has brought me life –
I know that it is finished.

I will not boast in anything,
no gifts, no pow’r, no wisdom;
but I will boast in Jesus Christ,
his death and resurrection.
Why should I gain from his reward?
I cannot give an answer;
but this I know with all my heart,
his wounds have paid my ransom.

PRAYERS led by Jilly Tan

SONG

When I fear my faith will fail, Christ will hold me fast;
When the tempter would prevail, He will hold me fast.
I could never keep my hold
Through life’s fearful path;
For my love is often cold; He must hold me fast.

He will hold me fast, He will hold me fast;
For my Saviour loves me so, He will hold me fast.

Those He saves are His delight, Christ will hold me fast;
Precious in His holy sight, He will hold me fast.
He’ll not let my soul be lost; His promises shall last;
Bought by Him at such a cost, He will hold me fast.

For my life He bled and died, Christ will hold me fast;
Justice has been satisfied; He will hold me fast.
Raised with Him to endless life, He will hold me fast
‘Till our faith is turned to sight When He comes at last!

BIBLE READING read by Lynda Carter

1 Kings 17

And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word.

And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

Get thee hence, and turn thee eastward, and hide thyself by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

And it shall be, that thou shalt drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed thee there.

So he went and did according unto the word of the Lord: for he went and dwelt by the brook Cherith, that is before Jordan.

And the ravens brought him bread and flesh in the morning, and bread and flesh in the evening; and he drank of the brook.

And it came to pass after a while, that the brook dried up, because there had been no rain in the land.

And the word of the Lord came unto him, saying,

Arise, get thee to Zarephath, which belongeth to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow woman there to sustain thee.

10 So he arose and went to Zarephath. And when he came to the gate of the city, behold, the widow woman was there gathering of sticks: and he called to her, and said, Fetch me, I pray thee, a little water in a vessel, that I may drink.

11 And as she was going to fetch it, he called to her, and said, Bring me, I pray thee, a morsel of bread in thine hand.

12 And she said, As the Lord thy God liveth, I have not a cake, but an handful of meal in a barrel, and a little oil in a cruse: and, behold, I am gathering two sticks, that I may go in and dress it for me and my son, that we may eat it, and die.

13 And Elijah said unto her, Fear not; go and do as thou hast said: but make me thereof a little cake first, and bring it unto me, and after make for thee and for thy son.

14 For thus saith the Lord God of Israel, The barrel of meal shall not waste, neither shall the cruse of oil fail, until the day that the Lord sendeth rain upon the earth.

15 And she went and did according to the saying of Elijah: and she, and he, and her house, did eat many days.

16 And the barrel of meal wasted not, neither did the cruse of oil fail, according to the word of the Lord, which he spake by Elijah.

17 And it came to pass after these things, that the son of the woman, the mistress of the house, fell sick; and his sickness was so sore, that there was no breath left in him.

18 And she said unto Elijah, What have I to do with thee, O thou man of God? art thou come unto me to call my sin to remembrance, and to slay my son?

19 And he said unto her, Give me thy son. And he took him out of her bosom, and carried him up into a loft, where he abode, and laid him upon his own bed.

20 And he cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, hast thou also brought evil upon the widow with whom I sojourn, by slaying her son?

21 And he stretched himself upon the child three times, and cried unto the Lord, and said, O Lord my God, I pray thee, let this child’s soul come into him again.

22 And the Lord heard the voice of Elijah; and the soul of the child came into him again, and he revived.

23 And Elijah took the child, and brought him down out of the chamber into the house, and delivered him unto his mother: and Elijah said, See, thy son liveth.

24 And the woman said to Elijah, Now by this I know that thou art a man of God, and that the word of the Lord in thy mouth is truth.

BIBLE TALK by Richard Hopkins

SONG

Oh for a thousand tongues to sing
my great Redeemer’s praise, my great Redeemer’s praise.
The glories of my God and King,
the triumphs of His grace, (the triumphs of His grace)
the triumphs of His grace, (the triumphs of His grace)
the triumphs of His grace.

Jesus! The name that calms our fears,
that bids our sorrows cease, that bids our sorrows cease;
’tis music in the sinner’s ears;
’tis life, and health, and peace, (’tis life, and health, and peace),
’tis life, and health, and peace, (’tis life, and health, and peace),
’tis life, and health, and peace.

He breaks the power of cancelled sin,
he sets the prisoner free, he sets the prisoner free;
His blood can make the foulest clean,
His blood availed for me, (His blood availed for me)
His blood availed for me, (His blood availed for me)
His blood availed for me.

He speaks, and, listening to His voice,
new life the dead receive, new life the dead receive.
The mournful, broken hearts rejoice,
the humble poor believe, (the humble poor believe)
the humble poor believe, (the humble poor believe)
the humble poor believe.

Hear Him, you deaf; His praise you dumb,
Your loosened tongues employ,
Your loosened tongues employ;
You blind, behold your saviour come;
and leap, you lame for joy, (and leap, you lame for joy)
and leap, you lame for joy, (and leap, you lame for joy)
and leap, you lame for joy.

My gracious Master and my God,
assist me to proclaim, assist me to proclaim,
to spread through all the earth abroad
the honours of your name, (the honours of your name)
the honours of your name, (the honours of your name)
the honours of your name.

Who else could rescue me from my failing?
Who else would offer His only Son?
Who else invites me to call Him Father?
Only a Holy God.
Only my Holy God.

SONG

Jesus is Lord – the cry that echoes through creation;
resplendent power, eternal Word, our Rock.
The Son of God,
the King whose glory fills the heavens,
yet bids us come to taste this living Bread.

Jesus is Lord – whose voice sustains the stars and planets,
yet in His wisdom laid aside His crown.
Jesus the Man,
who washed our feet, who bore our suffering
became a curse to bring salvation’s plan.

Jesus is Lord – the tomb is gloriously empty!
Not even death could crush this King of love!
The price is paid,
the chains are loosed, and we’re forgiven,
and we can run into the arms of God.

‘Jesus is Lord’ –
a shout of joy, a cry of anguish,
as He returns, and every knee bows low.
Then every eye and every heart will see His glory,
the Judge of all will take His children home.

PRAYERS

SONG

The Lord is gracious and compassionate
slow to anger and rich in love. (repeat)

The Lord is good to all, he has compassion on all that he has made.

As far as the east is from the west,
that’s how far he has removed
our transgressions from us. (repeat)

Praise the Lord, O my soul, Praise the Lord. (repeat)

BIBLE READING

Joel 1:1 – 2:17

The word of the Lord that came to Joel, the son of Pethuel:

Hear this, you elders;
    give ear, all inhabitants of the land!
Has such a thing happened in your days,
    or in the days of your fathers?
Tell your children of it,
    and let your children tell their children,
    and their children to another generation.
What the cutting locust left,
    the swarming locust has eaten.
What the swarming locust left,
    the hopping locust has eaten,
and what the hopping locust left,
    the destroying locust has eaten.
Awake, you drunkards, and weep,
    and wail, all you drinkers of wine,
because of the sweet wine,
    for it is cut off from your mouth.
For a nation has come up against my land,
    powerful and beyond number;
its teeth are lions’ teeth,
    and it has the fangs of a lioness.
It has laid waste my vine
    and splintered my fig tree;
it has stripped off their bark and thrown it down;
    their branches are made white.
Lament like a virgin wearing sackcloth
    for the bridegroom of her youth.
The grain offering and the drink offering are cut off
    from the house of the Lord.
The priests mourn,
    the ministers of the Lord.
10 The fields are destroyed,
    the ground mourns,
because the grain is destroyed,
    the wine dries up,
    the oil languishes.
11 Be ashamed, O tillers of the soil;
    wail, O vine dressers,
for the wheat and the barley,
    because the harvest of the field has perished.
12 The vine dries up;
    the fig tree languishes.
Pomegranate, palm, and apple,
    all the trees of the field are dried up,
and gladness dries up
    from the children of man.

13 Put on sackcloth and lament, O priests;
    wail, O ministers of the altar.
Go in, pass the night in sackcloth,
    O ministers of my God!
Because grain offering and drink offering
    are withheld from the house of your God.
14 Consecrate a fast;
    call a solemn assembly.
Gather the elders
    and all the inhabitants of the land
to the house of the Lord your God,
    and cry out to the Lord.
15 Alas for the day!
For the day of the Lord is near,
    and as destruction from the Almighty it comes.
16 Is not the food cut off
    before our eyes,
joy and gladness
    from the house of our God?
17 The seed shrivels under the clods;
    the storehouses are desolate;
the granaries are torn down
    because the grain has dried up.
18 How the beasts groan!
    The herds of cattle are perplexed
because there is no pasture for them;
    even the flocks of sheep suffer.
19 To you, O Lord, I call.
For fire has devoured
    the pastures of the wilderness,
and flame has burned
    all the trees of the field.
20 Even the beasts of the field pant for you
    because the water brooks are dried up,
and fire has devoured
    the pastures of the wilderness.

Blow a trumpet in Zion;
    sound an alarm on my holy mountain!
Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble,
    for the day of the Lord is coming; it is near,
a day of darkness and gloom,
    a day of clouds and thick darkness!
Like blackness there is spread upon the mountains
    a great and powerful people;
their like has never been before,
    nor will be again after them
    through the years of all generations.
Fire devours before them,
    and behind them a flame burns.
The land is like the garden of Eden before them,
    but behind them a desolate wilderness,
    and nothing escapes them.
Their appearance is like the appearance of horses,
    and like war horses they run.
As with the rumbling of chariots,
    they leap on the tops of the mountains,
like the crackling of a flame of fire
    devouring the stubble,
like a powerful army
    drawn up for battle.
Before them peoples are in anguish;
    all faces grow pale.
Like warriors they charge;
    like soldiers they scale the wall.
They march each on his way;
    they do not swerve from their paths.
They do not jostle one another;
    each marches in his path;
they burst through the weapons
    and are not halted.
They leap upon the city,
    they run upon the walls,
they climb up into the houses,
    they enter through the windows like a thief.
10 The earth quakes before them;
    the heavens tremble.
The sun and the moon are darkened,
    and the stars withdraw their shining.
11 The Lord utters his voice
    before his army,
for his camp is exceedingly great;
    he who executes his word is powerful.
For the day of the Lord is great and very awesome;
    who can endure it?

12 “Yet even now,” declares the Lord,
    “return to me with all your heart,
with fasting, with weeping, and with mourning;
13     and rend your hearts and not your garments.”
Return to the Lord your God,
    for he is gracious and merciful,
slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love;
    and he relents over disaster.
14 Who knows whether he will not turn and relent,
    and leave a blessing behind him,
a grain offering and a drink offering
    for the Lord your God?
15 Blow the trumpet in Zion;
    consecrate a fast;
call a solemn assembly;
16     gather the people.
Consecrate the congregation;
    assemble the elders;
gather the children,
    even nursing infants.
Let the bridegroom leave his room,
    and the bride her chamber.
17 Between the vestibule and the altar
    let the priests, the ministers of the Lord, weep
and say, “Spare your people, O Lord,
    and make not your heritage a reproach,
    a byword among the nations.
Why should they say among the peoples,
    ‘Where is their God?’”

BIBLE TALK                       by Rich Adam

CONFESSION

Heavenly Father,
you have loved us with an everlasting love
but we have gone our own way
and broken your laws.
We are sorry for our sins,
we mourn for them
and turn away from them.
For the sake of your Son who died for us,
forgive us, cleanse us and change us.
By your Holy Spirit,
enable us to live for you,
and to please you more and more;
as we wait for the return of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Amen.

SONGS

I don’t deserve to be your servant
and how much less to be your child.
Anger and wrath, sure condemnation,
should be my portion, my just reward.
Never have seen it, never will know it.
Your loving kindness enfolds my life.

All you have shown me is grace, love and mercy.
Now and forever, I am your child.
Freely you pour out your loving kindness.
Father of grace, you welcome me in.

All of the sin I have committed
was placed upon your righteous Son.
And now you see me through his perfection,
as if I’d never done any wrong.
Always forgiven, always accepted,
no fear of judgment before your throne.

————————————————-

Everyone needs compassion
love that’s never failing:
let mercy fall on me.
Everyone needs forgiveness,
the kindness of a Saviour,
the hope of nations.

Saviour, he can move the mountains.
My God is mighty to save,
he is mighty to save.
Forever – author of salvation.
He rose and conquered the grave,
Jesus conquered the grave.

So take me as you find me,
all my fears and failures:
fill my life again.
I give my life to follow
everything I believe in;
now I surrender.

Shine your light and let the whole world see.
We’re singing for the glory of the risen King!
