SONG

Our first song praises God, the king of kings who gives us what we don’t deserve

King of Kings, majesty
God of heaven living in me.
Gentle Saviour, closest friend,
strong deliverer, beginning and end.
All within me falls at your throne.

Your majesty, I can but bow.
I lay my all before you now.
In royal robes I don’t deserve,
I live to serve your majesty.

Earth and heaven worship you.
Love eternal, faithful and true,
who bought the nations, ransomed souls,
brought this sinner near to your throne.
All within me cries out in praise!

Your majesty, I can but bow…

PRAYERS

Led by Balazs and Suze Fazekas

SONG

Before we come to look at the bible, lets thank God that though we could do nothing to save ourselves, he has made a way for us to be saved.

Who, O Lord, could save themselves?
their own soul could heal?
Our shame was deeper than the sea;
your grace is deeper still.

And you alone can rescue,
you alone can save.
You alone can lift us from the grave.
You came down to find us,
led us out of death:
to you alone belongs the highest praise.

You, O Lord, have made a way,
the great divide you healed,
for when our hearts were far away,
your love went further still.
Yes, your love went further still.

And you alone can rescue…

We lift up our eyes, we lift up our eyes: You’re the giver of life! (repeat)

READING and BIBLE TALK

In the next video Rachel reads the bible passage which Rich then speaks on

Matthew 20:1-16

20 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire labourers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing with the labourers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And going out about the third hour he saw others standing idle in the market-place, 4 and to them he said, ‘You go into the vineyard too, and whatever is right I will give you.’ 5 So they went. Going out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour, he did the same. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?’ 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.’ He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.’ 8 And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the labourers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, up to the first.’ 9 And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. 10 Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. 11 And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house, 12 saying, ‘These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.’ 13 But he replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. 15 Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?’ 16 So the last will be first, and the first last.”

SONGS

In our closing songs, we praise God for his grace and kindness to us

Only by grace can we enter,
only by grace can we stand;
not by our human endeavour,
but by the blood of the Lamb.
Into your presence you call us,
you call us to come.
Into your presence you draw us,
and now by your grace we come,
now by your grace we come.

Lord, if you mark our transgressions
who could stand?
Thanks to your grace
we are cleansed by the blood of the lamb. (repeat)

Now why this fear and unbelief?
Has not the Father put to grief
his spotless Son for us?
And will the righteous Judge of men
condemn me for that debt of sin
now cancelled at the cross?

Jesus, all my trust is in your blood.
Jesus, you’ve rescued us
through your great love!

Complete atonement you have made,
and by your death have fully paid
the debt your people owed.
No wrath remains for us to face.
We’re sheltered by your saving grace
and sprinkled with your blood.

Jesus, all my trust…

How sweet the sound of saving grace.
How sweet the sound of saving grace.
Christ died for me!

Be still, my soul, and know this peace;
the merits of your Great High Priest
have bought your liberty.
Rely then on his precious blood,
don’t fear your banishment from God
since Jesus sets you free.

Jesus, all my trust…

MEN: Jesus, all my trust…
WOMEN: How sweet the sound…

WELCOME

Watch the video as Rich welcomes us.

SONG

Let’s begin our service by giving thanks to God for all his goodness to us.

Give thanks to the Lord our God and King
his love endures forever.
For He is good, he is above all things:
his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

With a mighty hand and an outstretched arm:
his love endures forever.
For the life that’s been reborn: his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

Forever God is faithful; forever God is strong.
Forever God is with us, forever. (repeat). Forever.

From the rising to the setting sun: his love endures forever.
By the grace of God, we will carry on: his love endures forever.
Sing praise, sing praise, sing praise, sing praise.

Forever God is faithful….

READING

Psalm 100 encourages us to come before God with joyful songs. Read the psalm out loud before singing praise to him.

Psalm 100

“Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.

Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
his faithfulness continues through all generations.”

SONG

Strength will rise
as we wait upon the Lord,
we will wait upon the Lord,
we will wait upon the Lord. (repeat)

Our God, you reign forever.
Our hope, our strong deliverer.

You are the everlasting God,
the everlasting God.
You do not faint, you won’t grow weary.
You’re the defender of the weak,
you comfort those in need,
you lift us up on wings like eagles.

PRAYERS

led by Gemma Adam

SONG

Before we come to our bible passage for today we thank God for his grace.

Grace unmeasured vast and free
that knew me from eternity;
that called me out before my birth
to bring you glory on this earth.

Grace amazing, pure and deep
that saw me in my misery;
that took my curse and owned my blame
so I could bear your righteous name.

Grace (grace, grace)
paid for my sins and brought me to life.
Grace (grace, grace)
clothes me with power to do what is right.
Grace (grace, grace)
will lead me to heaven where I’ll see your face,
and never cease to thank You for your grace.

Grace abounding, strong and true
that makes me long to be like you;
that turns me from my selfish pride
to love the cross on which you died.

Grace unending all my days,
you’ll give me strength to run this race.
And when my years on earth are through,
the praise will all belong to you.

BIBLE TALK
In the next video Christine reads the Bible passage which Richard then speaks on.

Matthew 19:13-20

  • You can’t earn eternal life
  • You can receive eternal life

SONG

In our closing song, we thank God for his incredible gift of Jesus.

What gift of grace is Jesus my redeemer
There is no more for heaven now to give
He is my joy, my righteousness, and freedom
My steadfast love, my deep and boundless peace

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
For my life is wholly bound to His
Oh how strange and divine, I can sing: all is mine!
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

The night is dark but I am not forsaken
For by my side, the Saviour He will stay
I labour on in weakness and rejoicing
For in my need, His power is displayed

To this I hold, my Shepherd will defend me
Through the deepest valley He will lead
Oh the night has been won, and I shall overcome!
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

No fate I dread, I know I am forgiven
The future sure, the price it has been paid
For Jesus bled and suffered for my pardon
And He was raised to overthrow the grave

To this I hold, my sin has been defeated
Jesus now and ever is my plea
Oh the chains are released, I can sing: I am free!
Yet not I, but through Christ in me

With every breath I long to follow Jesus
For He has said that He will bring me home
And day by day I know He will renew me
Until I stand with joy before the throne

To this I hold, my hope is only Jesus
All the glory evermore to Him
When the race is complete, still my lips shall repeat
Yet not I, but through Christ in me!

WELCOME

SONG

As we look forward to our first service at Bramcote College since March 2020, we ask that in all situations God’s name would be praised.

BITESIZE

In our bitesize we look forward to next Sunday and what to expect.

READING

In our first reading and next song, we encourage one another with what will happen at the end of time.

Revelation 21:1-8

Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more.
2 And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
4He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain any more, for the former things have passed away.”

And he who was seated on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” Also he said, “Write this down, for these words are trustworthy and true.” And he said to me, “It is done! I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. To the thirsty I will give from the spring of the water of life without payment. The one who conquers will have this heritage, and I will be his God and he will be my son. But as for the cowardly, the faithless, the detestable, as for murderers, the sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur, which is the second death.”

PRAYERS

led by Tom and Esther Coekin

SONG

Before we hear from God’s word, we ask that we would be ready to hear what he says to us.

Speak, O Lord, as we come to you
to receive the food of your holy Word.
Take your truth, plant it deep in us;
shape and fashion us in your likeness,
that the light of Christ might be seen today
in our acts of love and our deeds of faith.
Speak, O Lord, and fulfil in us
all your purposes for your glory.

Teach us, Lord, full obedience,
holy reverence, true humility;
test our thoughts and our attitudes
in the radiance of your purity.
Cause our faith to rise; cause our eyes to see
your majestic love and authority.
Words of pow’r that can never fail –
let their truth prevail over unbelief.

Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds;
help us grasp the heights of your plans for us.
Truths unchanged from the dawn of time
that will echo down through eternity.
And by grace we’ll stand on your promises,
and by faith we’ll walk as you walk with us.
Speak, O Lord, till your church is built
and the earth is filled with your glory.

BIBLE TALK with Ekids Introduction & Bible Reading

In the next video Helen introduces the children’s material for today, Cate reads the bible passage which Richard then speaks on.

As part of our response to God’s word, we confess that we fail to be the people he made us to be.

CONFESSION

In Philippians 1 we are told to ‘let your manner of life be worthy of the gospel of Christ’.
We confess that often we do not live in this way.

Despite our encouragement in Christ
and comfort from his love,
we do not love as we should.
Lord please forgive us,
and help us to live like Jesus.

We often act from rivalry and conceit,
And consider ourselves more important than others.
Lord please forgive us,
and help us to live like Jesus.

We look to our own interests,
ignoring the interests of others.
Lord please forgive us,
and help us to live like Jesus.

We do not share the mind of Jesus
in how we live and act.
Lord please forgive us,
and help us to live like Jesus.

Our Lord Jesus humbled himself by being obedient to death, even death on the cross.
His death has won full and free forgiveness for all who trust in him.
Thank you lord Jesus for dying for us. Amen.

SONGS

We finish our service by praising our all-powerful God.

CLOSING PRAYER

“May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
