WELCOME by Rich Adam
SONG
Come people of the risen king who delight to bring him praise;
come all and tune your hearts to sing to the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth we will lift our eyes to him,
where steady arms of mercy reach to gather children in.
Rejoice, rejoice! Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice; O church of Christ, rejoice!
Come, those whose joy is morning sun, and those weeping through the night;
come, those who tell of battles won, and those struggling in the fight.
For his perfect love will never change, and his mercies never cease,
but follow us through all our days with the certain hope of peace.
Come, young and old from every land – men and women of the faith;
come, those with full or empty hands – find the riches of his grace.
Over all the world, his people sing – shore to shore we hear them call
the truth that cries through every age: ‘our God is all in all!’

SONG
Tell out my soul, the greatness of the Lord! Unnumbered blessings give my spirit voice;
tender to me the promise of his Word – in God my Saviour shall my heart rejoice.
Tell out, my soul, the greatness of his name!
Make known his might, the deeds his arm has done;
his mercy sure, from age to age the same – his holy name: the Lord, the mighty one.
Tell out, my soul, the greatness of his might! Powers and dominions lay their glory by;
proud hearts and stubborn wills are put to flight,
the hungry fed, the humble lifted high.
Tell out, my soul, the glories of his Word! Firm is his promise and his mercy sure.
Tell out, my soul, the greatness of the Lord to children’s children and for evermore!

Ekids leave us go to their groups.
SONG
Holy Spirit, living breath of God breathe new life into my willing soul.
Bring the presence of the risen Lord to renew my heart and make me whole.
Cause Your Word to come alive in me. Give me faith for what I cannot see.
Give me passion for Your purity. Holy Spirit, breathe new life in me.
Holy Spirit, come abide within. May Your joy be seen in all I do.
Love enough to cover every sin in each thought and deed and attitude.
Kindness to the greatest and the least, gentleness that sows the path of peace.
Turn my striving into works of grace. Breath of God, show Christ in all I do.
Holy Spirit, from creation’s birth, giving life to all that God has made,
show Your power once again on earth. Cause Your church to hunger for Your ways.
Let the fragrance of our prayers arise. Lead us on the road of sacrifice
that in unity the face of Christ will be clear for all the world to see.
BIBLE READING by Carey Latham
John 16:16-24
16 “A little while, and you will see me no longer; and again a little while, and you will see me.” 17 So some of his disciples said to one another, “What is this that he says to us, ‘A little while, and you will not see me, and again a little while, and you will see me’; and, ‘because I am going to the Father’?” 18 So they were saying, “What does he mean by ‘a little while’? We do not know what he is talking about.” 19 Jesus knew that they wanted to ask him, so he said to them, “Is this what you are asking yourselves, what I meant by saying, ‘A little while and you will not see me, and again a little while and you will see me’? 20 Truly, truly, I say to you, you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice. You will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will turn into joy. 21 When a woman is giving birth, she has sorrow because her hour has come, but when she has delivered the baby, she no longer remembers the anguish, for joy that a human being has been born into the world. 22 So also you have sorrow now, but I will see you again, and your hearts will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you. 23 In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. 24 Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be full.

SONG
Hallelujah! All I have is Christ Hallelujah! Jesus is my life.
I once was lost in darkest night yet thought I knew the way.
The sin that promised joy and life had led me to the grave.
I had no hope that You would own a rebel to Your will,
and if You had not loved me first, I would refuse You still.
But as I ran my hell-bound race, indifferent to the cost,
You looked upon my helpless state and led me to the cross.
And I beheld God’s love displayed; You suffered in my place.
You bore the wrath reserved for me now all I know is grace!
Hallelujah…
Now Lord I would be Yours alone and live so all might see
the strength to follow Your commands could never come from me.
O Father use my ransomed life in any way You choose,
and let my song forever be my only boast is You!
Hallelujah…
CONFESSION
As we come to the Lord’s table we recognise our desperate need
of the work of Jesus for us Father, so much of our lives
revolve around ourselves, rather than you and your priorities.
Lord, we are sorry; please forgive us.
Often we worry and stress rather than cling to you and your promises.
Lord, we are sorry; please forgive us.
We make plans and try to accomplish them in our own strength
rather than relying on you in prayer.
Lord, we are sorry; please forgive us.
We give in when temptations come
rather than trusting that to follow you is better by far.
Lord, we are sorry; please forgive us.
We despair at our own sinfulness and wallow in our shame
rather than joyfully accepting the work of Jesus for us.
Lord, we are sorry; please forgive us.
We turn to you for forgiveness.
Jesus died for all our sins and we trust in Him.
Let all who believe hear these words of encouragement:
“Since we have been justified by faith,
we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.”
Amen.
THE LORD’S SUPPER
The Lord Jesus told us to eat and drink this meal to proclaim his death until he comes again. Heavenly Father, it is our privilege to remind one another that you gave your only Son to die on the cross for our redemption. By his death, as the one perfect sacrifice, Jesus Christ has offered all that was needed to take away the sins of the world. By rising to life, he has assured us of our resurrection to eternal life. By ascending to your right hand in heaven, he has poured out your promised Holy Spirit, equipping us to serve you.
How wonderful you are, our God and Saviour! How rich in mercy! How great the love with which you loved us! You have blessed us in Christ with every spiritual blessing! Therefore with your whole creation, and with all your people since time began, and with all the thousands upon thousands gathered now around your heavenly throne, we honour and glorify you, saying together:
To him who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb,
be blessing and honour and glory and might
for ever and ever. Amen.
You’ll be brought a container with a bread wafer and grape juice.
If you would like to be brought a gluten-free wafer, please tell the steward.
As the bread and wine are distributed, we sing of Jesus’ death for us.
SONG
Consider Christ the source of our salvation,
that he should take the penalty for me.
Though he was pure, a lamb without a blemish,
he took my sins and nailed them to the tree.
My Lord and God, you are so rich in mercy,
mere words alone are not sufficient thanks.
So take my life, transform, renew and change me
that I might be a living sacrifice.
Consider Christ, that he could trust his Father
in the garden of Gethsemane.
Though full of dread and fearful of the anguish,
he drank the cup that was reserved for me.
Consider Christ, for death he has defeated,
and he arose, appeared for all to see.
And now he sits at God’s right hand in heaven
where he prepares a resting place for me.
On the night he was betrayed, our Lord Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it, and gave it to his disciples, saying, ‘This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me.’
We remember Jesus as we eat this bread
In the same way he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me.’
We remember Jesus as we drink this wine
SONG
How can it be, the one who died, has borne our sin through sacrifice
to conquer every sting of death? Sing, sing hallelujah.
For joy awakes as dawning light when Christ’s disciples lift their eyes.
Alive He stands, their Friend and King; Christ, Christ He is risen.
Christ is risen, He is risen indeed! Oh, sing hallelujah!
Join the chorus, sing with the redeemed; Christ is risen, He is risen indeed.
Where doubt and darkness once had been, they saw Him and their hearts believed.
But blessed are those who have not seen, yet sing hallelujah.
Once bound by fear now bold in faith, they preached the truth and power of grace.
And pouring out their lives they gained life, life everlasting.
Christ is risen…
The power that raised Him from the grave now works in us to powerfully save.
He frees our hearts to live His grace; Go tell of His goodness.
Christ is risen…
He’s alive, He’s alive! Heaven’s gates are opened wide.
He’s alive, He’s alive! Now in heaven glorified.
