We’re not able to meet together as church family today and for the coming weeks. Although, by necessity, we have to stay apart physically, we’re standing together to love, support and encourage one another. So, in around 90 different homes, we’ll sing the same songs, pray the same prayers and look together at the promise we are God’s children, as we look to Galatians 2:20. There are some activities for those aged 14 or under to do and a bible talk from Richard for us to listen to.
For each person in your home, you’ll need a copy of this service sheet, a bible, print outs of the children’s sheets (if needed) and your computer or tablet to click on the links below. Please note that the songs are being played from YouTube, if one of the annoying adverts pop up, click on the ‘skip ad’ button.

WELCOME AND OPENING PRAYER
Watch the video of Richard’s welcome and intro by clicking here
In our opening song, we say that we want to be people who live trusting in God.
SONG – listen by clicking here
By faith we see the hand of God
in the light of creation’s grand design,
in the lives of those who prove His faithfulness,
who walk by faith and not by sight.
By faith our fathers roamed the earth,
with the power of His promise in their hearts
of a holy city built by God’s own hand;
a place where peace and justice reign.
We will stand as children of the promise.
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward,
till the race is finished and the work is done,
we’ll walk by faith and not by sight.
By faith the prophets saw a day
when the longed-for Messiah would appear
with the power to break the chains of sin and death
and rise triumphant from the grave.
By faith the church was called to go
in the power of the Spirit to the lost,
to deliver captives and to preach good news
in every corner of the earth.
We will stand as children of the promise.
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward,
till the race is finished and the work is done,
we’ll walk by faith and not by sight.
By faith this mountain shall be moved
and the power of the gospel shall prevail.
For we know in Christ all things are possible
for all who call upon His name.
We will stand as children of the promise.
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward,
till the race is finished and the work is done,
we’ll walk by faith and not by sight.
PRAYERS
Say aloud the prayers that are printed below.
Loving Father,
We thank you for Andrew and Bethanie, Maya, Emilio, Lucy and Noah. We pray for them during this time of lockdown for your care and protection of them. We pray that there would be a unity in their church and that they would be a praying church that depends on you in all things. We pray for them as they connect together virtually, that all the members of the church would be built up in their faith in Christ, that they would continue to care for one another, and that you would help them as they reach out with the good news of Jesus. We pray that many people in Mendoza would come to faith in Jesus. Amen.
Heavenly Father,
Please would you help us to be people who live by faith. Help us to trust you in all the events of our lives. Particularly with all the uncertainty of the present times, please help us to pray about all that we are facing and the decisions we have to make. Thank you for your promise that as we acknowledge you in all our ways then you will direct our paths. Amen.
We pray for children going back to school this week and in coming weeks. We pray that you would keep them safe and that would not feel scared about going back. And we pray the same thing for parents dropping them off. We pray for children who are staying at home for longer that you would keep them patient and positive. Amen.
We pray for our church family at Emmanuel that we would help one another to trust you. We thank you for the technology that makes it possible for us to connect with one another. We pray that as we do so, we would be building one another up and that our faith in you would be increasing. Amen.
In our next song, we express our desire to trust God come what may.

I’m going to trust in God
I’m going to trust in Jesus
without shame and without fear.
I’m going to fix my eyes on the hope of glory
for his day is drawing near.
How great is the love of God,
how steady is his hand
to guide me through this world.
And though I’m weak in him I stand
and you will hear me say today in faith,
“I’m going to trust in God.”
Now when the cares of life seem overwhelming
and my heart is sinking down
I’m going to lift my hands to the One who’ll help me,
to the One who holds my crown.
How great is the love of God,
how steady is his hand
to guide me through this world.
And though I’m weak in him I stand
and you will hear me say today in faith,
“I’m going to trust in God.”
Psalm 25 is an expression of trust in God. Let’s say it together.
PSALM 25
In you, LORD my God,
I put my trust.
I trust in you;
do not let me be put to shame,
nor let my enemies triumph over me.
No one who hopes in you
will ever be put to shame,
but shame will come on those
who are treacherous without cause.
Show me your ways, LORD,
teach me your paths.
Guide me in your truth and teach me,
for you are God my Saviour,
and my hope is in you all day long.
Remember, LORD, your great mercy and love,
for they are from of old.
Do not remember the sins of my youth
and my rebellious ways;
according to your love remember me,
for you, LORD, are good.
Good and upright is the LORD;
therefore he instructs sinners in his ways.
He guides the humble in what is right
and teaches them his way.
All the ways of the LORD are loving and faithful
toward those who keep the demands of his covenant.
For the sake of your name, LORD,
forgive my iniquity, though it is great.
Who, then, are those who fear the LORD?
He will instruct them in the ways they should choose
As those who trust in Jesus, our confidence isn’t in ourselves but solely in Him.

My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus’ blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame
But wholly trust in Jesus name.
Christ alone, cornerstone,
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love.
Through the storm,
He is Lord, Lord of all.
When darkness seems to hide His face
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale
My anchor holds within the veil.
Christ alone, cornerstone,
Weak made strong in the Saviour’s love.
Through the storm,
He is Lord, Lord of all.
When he shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless stand before the throne.
We recommend this week that you set children up with their activities first and then turn on the bible talk video for the reading and bible talk.

BIBLE READING
Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
BIBLE TALK

1. I’ve been crucified with Christ
2. I live by faith

Now why this fear and unbelief?
Has not the Father put to grief
his spotless Son for us?
And will the righteous Judge of men
condemn me for that debt of sin
now cancelled at the cross?
Jesus, all my trust is in your blood.
Jesus, you’ve rescued us
through your great love!
Complete atonement you have made,
and by your death have fully paid
the debt your people owed.
No wrath remains for us to face.
We’re sheltered by your saving grace
and sprinkled with your blood.
Jesus, all my trust is in your blood.
Jesus, you’ve rescued us
through your great love!
How sweet the sound of saving grace.
How sweet the sound of saving grace.
Christ died for me!
Be still, my soul, and know this peace;
the merits of your Great High Priest
have bought your liberty.
Rely then on his precious blood,
don’t fear your banishment from God
since Jesus sets you free.
Jesus, all my trust is in your blood.
Jesus, you’ve rescued us
through your great love!
How sweet the sound of saving grace.
How sweet the sound of saving grace.
Christ died for me!
Jesus, all my trust is in your blood.
Jesus, you’ve rescued us
through your great love!
