WELCOME

SONG
Our opening song encourages us to come and rejoice in God’s great love for us.
BITESIZE
In our bitesize Richard tells us some news in the life of the church family and interviews one of our church members.
BIBLE READING
Peter tells us what Jesus is doing in us as we come to Him.
1 Peter 2: 4-10
“As you come to him, the living Stone—rejected by humans but chosen by God and precious to him— you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. For in Scripture it says:
“See, I lay a stone in Zion,
a chosen and precious cornerstone,
and the one who trusts in him
will never be put to shame.”
Now to you who believe, this stone is precious. But to those who do not believe,
“The stone the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,”
and,
“A stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall.”
They stumble because they disobey the message—which is also what they were destined for.
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.”
SONG
As those who have been called out of darkness into God’s wonderful light, we have so much to praise Him for!
PRAYERS led by Ruth Bryant
SONG
Before we spend time looking at God’s word we ask the Holy Spirit to cause us to hunger for His ways.
In the next video Abby Baird introduces the children’s material for today, Alec Cobbett reads the bible passage which Richard then speaks on.
BIBLE TALK by Richard Hopkins
Ephesians 4:7-16
Christ gives church leaders to equip all God’s people so that we may grow up into Christ.
Christ gives…
…church leaders…
…to equip all God’s people…
…so that we may grow up into Christ
In our closing two songs we thank God for His grace and commit to be people who live by faith.
SONGS
From the breaking of the dawn
to the setting of the sun,
I will stand on every promise of your word.
Words of power, strong to save,
that will never pass away;
I will stand on every promise of your word.
For your covenant is sure,
and on this I am secure:
I can stand on every promise of your word.
When I stumble and I sin,
condemnation pressing in,
I will stand on every promise of your word.
You are faithful to forgive,
that in freedom I might live,
so I stand on every promise of your word.
Guilt to innocence restored;
you remember sins no more.
So I’ll stand on every promise of your word.
When I’m faced with anguished choice,
I will listen for your voice,
and I’ll stand on every promise of your word.
Through this dark and troubled land,
you will guide me with your hand
as I stand on every promise of your word.
And you’ve promised to complete
every work begun in me
so I’ll stand on every promise of your word.
Hope that lifts me from despair;
love that casts out every fear
as I stand on every promise of your word.
Not forsaken, not alone,
for the Comforter has come.
And I stand on every promise of your word.
Grace sufficient, grace for me,
grace for all who will believe.
We will stand on every promise of your word.
By faith we see the hand of God
in the light of creation’s grand design,
in the lives of those who prove His faithfulness,
who walk by faith and not by sight.
By faith our fathers roamed the earth,
with the power of His promise in their hearts
of a holy city built by God’s own hand;
a place where peace and justice reign.
We will stand as children of the promise.
We will fix our eyes on Him, our soul’s reward,
till the race is finished and the work is done,
we’ll walk by faith and not by sight.
By faith the prophets saw a day
when the longed-for Messiah would appear
with the power to break the chains of sin and death
and rise triumphant from the grave.
By faith the church was called to go
in the power of the Spirit to the lost,
to deliver captives and to preach good news
in every corner of the earth.
We will stand…
By faith this mountain shall be moved
and the power of the gospel shall prevail.
For we know in Christ all things are possible
for all who call upon His name.
