WELCOME

Watch the video as Paul welcomes us.

SONG

We have so much to praise Jesus for! Let’s praise him now!

Come people of the risen king
who delight to bring him praise;
come all and tune your hearts to sing
to the Morning Star of grace.
From the shifting shadows of the earth
we will lift our eyes to him,
where steady arms of mercy reach
to gather children in.

Rejoice, rejoice!
Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice;
O church of Christ, rejoice!

Come, those whose joy is morning sun,
and those weeping through the night;
come, those who tell of battles won,
and those struggling in the fight.
For his perfect love will never change,
and his mercies never cease,
but follow us through all our days
with the certain hope of peace.

Rejoice, rejoice!
Let every tongue rejoice!
One heart, one voice;
O church of Christ, rejoice!

Come, young and old from every land –
men and women of the faith;
come, those with full or empty hands –
find the riches of his grace.
Over all the world, his people sing –
shore to shore we hear them call
the truth that cries through every age:
‘our God is all in all!’

BITESIZE

Paul catches up with our next Christianity Explored leaders, Sam and Ruth Strain.

READING

In our first bible reading we hear about what Jesus has done and is doing for his people.

Ephesians 2:18-22

“18 For through him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

19 Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household, 20 built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone. 21 In him the whole building is joined together and rises to become a holy temple in the Lord. 22 And in him you too are being built together to become a dwelling in which God lives by his Spirit.”

SONG

In our next song we celebrate being God’s people.

PRAYERS

Led by Alex and Becci Bitsios-Esposito & the Lord’s Prayer

Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done, on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins
as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation
but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power
and the glory are yours now and for ever.
Amen

SONG

Before we look at our passage today let’s praise Jesus, who God has made both Lord and Christ.

Jesus is Lord
the cry that echoes through creation;
resplendent power, eternal Word, our Rock.
The Son of God,
the King whose glory fills the heavens,
yet bids us come to taste this living Bread.

Jesus is Lord –
whose voice sustains the stars and planets,
yet in His wisdom laid aside His crown.
Jesus the Man,
who washed our feet, who bore our suffering
became a curse to bring salvation’s plan.

Jesus is Lord –
the tomb is gloriously empty!
Not even death could crush this King of love!
The price is paid,
the chains are loosed, and we’re forgiven,
and we can run into the arms of God.

‘Jesus is Lord’ –
a shout of joy, a cry of anguish,
as He returns, and every knee bows low.
Then every eye and every heart will see His glory,
the Judge of all will take His children home.
