Today we started a new sermon series in the Bible book of Matthew called the glory and the shadow. This series covers Jesus’ last dealings in Galilee, before he heads to Judea and then onto Jerusalem. It is a section full of contrast, as the glory of who Jesus is and what he came to do is made plain, the shadow of those who oppose him and reject him is all the more stark. This morning Richard preached on Matthew 13:53-58 as we though about the shadow of rejection and asked can we cope with Jesus or is he too hot to handle? Is your trust really in Jesus or is it in yourself?
