Children & Youth

Children and young people are a really important part of our church family at Emmanuel Church Bramcote.  We seek to make sure that there is plenty for them.On Sundays children and young people start in the service and then go to their own groups after the first 10 or 15 minutes.  Jesus loves children and we seek to help them to find about him so that they can comes to know him and love him.

We have 4 different groups on a Sunday:

Pebbles

Ages 0 – 4

Pebbles is our group for the 0-4 year olds provides a crèche facility with bible stories, singing, snack time and crafts during the Sunday service.

Rocks

Reception to School year 3

Rocks is the start of our children’s journey together through the bible which continues through to Rip Rap. We explore what the bible says through crafts, games and visual retelling of bible stories.

Boulders

School year 4-6

In Boulders we help children to explore the bible for themselves. As well as crafts and games, there’s lots of acting out passages of the bible. The Boulders group enjoys spending time together, not just on a Sunday but also in occasional midweek social activities.

Rip Rap

School year 7-9

In Rip Rap we try to help the young people discover how the bible makes sense of the world they live in. There’s plenty of discussion and questioning as well as lots of laughter and fun. Epic socials have included the chip shop challenge and making a fire pit out of an old washing machine drum.

On any Sunday Rocks, Boulders and Rip Rap will be looking at the same part of the bible and we’ll be in the same part of the bible for several weeks.  We hope this helps parents be able to talk to their children afterwards about what they’ve been doing.

Youth group for ages 14-18

School year 10-14

14-18yr olds do not have their own group on a Sunday morning but instead remain in the church service. They have a group called YPF that meets on a Wednesday evening for games, bible study, prayer, discussion, support and social events.

Child protection

Emmanuel Church Bramcote has a strong child protection policy.  All of our leaders have been properly checked with the appropriate organisations and are well trained and experienced.  Our groups are coordinated by Helen Hawley who is our Youth and Children’s work coordinator.
