At Emmanuel Church Bramcote, we don’t just meet on a Sunday, but have a number of midweek groups where we can explore faith together and spend time with our local community. Read on to find out more.

Growth Groups (Tuesdays and Thursdays)

Most weeks, the church family meet in small groups in people’s houses. These groups are called Growth Groups. Growth Groups are an essential part of the life of Emmanuel.

They aim to be places where we are growing as Christians together.

Being a Christian isn’t something we do alone, but together we believe all Christians are part of God’s family and we have a part to play in helping each other to grow in our faith.

There are currently 6 groups which meet on either a Tuesday or a Thursday evening. Each group typically has between 14 and 18 people in it and has four leaders. On the evening, Growth Groups normally start with a time of getting to know each other over drinks and maybe some cake, and then we spend some time studying the Bible together. At Emmanuel we believe reading and thinking through God’s word helps us to grow. We also spend time praying for one another and seek to care and support each other during the week.

Growth Groups are for those who are trusting in Jesus and are part of Emmanuel Church. If you’re at the stage of finding out about the Christian faith or Emmanuel, you might find coming on one of one of our Christianity Explored courses helpful place to start.

Church Prayer Meetings

Once a month we meet at Bramcote College on either a Tuesday or Thursday evening to pray together as a church family. We believe that we have a God who answers prayer, and it is important to pray for our church, our world and each other.

Anyone is welcome to these meetings, whether you would like to pray out loud or just listen to others pray.

At some of our meetings, we also spend time singing praise to God together.

At least once a term we have a Church Members’ meeting. At Emmanuel, we want to hear from our church members and listen to their thoughts about matters concerning the church. At each meeting, we start by hearing a thought from the Bible, hear a financial update from our treasurer and an update from our Leadership Team, as well as discussing future plans. Anyone is able to attend these meetings, however only those who have become church members are able to vote on certain decisions.

Men and Women

Although most of what we do at Emmanuel Church Bramcote we do as men and women together, we do have separate men and women’s groups that meet for encouragement and fellowship. To find out when the next meetings are, have a look at our church calendar.
